AKIM's inspiration was born on the ocean but his career began as a marooned sailor on a carribbean island in the south. Armed with nothing but a guitar, song and voice...Akim made his mark playing all over the islands. The generosity and good faith he encountered on his journey filled his heart with incredible joy and pride for humankind. He eventually made his way to Europe where he became a gypsy traveler playing in the North of Italy, All over France, Germany and England. Finally about two years ago Akim returned home to try and harness all this musical energy and form a band. It took about a year of gigging almost every bar in Toronto...but finally Akim found himself a band! Akim and Yoser got together and started arranging all the songs for the upcoming album...demos were cut at home...and then better demos were cut in a studio...a crash course in music production with the help of some very knowledgeable friends began with very positive results! Soon there were other musicians lurking around...interest in the project grew as did the band. Finally after a year of really hard work and patience...the first EP aptly entitled "INTRO" is available. The follow up complete 1st album will be available sometime in 2006. AKIM is also currently working on recording the next album which is going to be quite a unique and special documentary/concept album so keep your ears and eyes open!
