The Big Belly Blues Band is a group of San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area musicians, predominantly associated with the jazz community who have come together in close association to perform music inspired by the cultural experiences of their youth.
The Big Belly Blues Band formed in June, 2000, and recently released their debut CD in sold out performances at Yoshi's World Class Jazz House, in Oakland, California. The CD contains twelve tunes, nine of which are their own originals.
The Big Belly Blues Band offers an exciting blend of blues, jazz, R & B and hip hop, which continuosly manages to keep the music "pocketized." The highly seasoned group of inspired, disiplined, professional musicians features vocalists, a real horn section, guitar, keyboards, bass, drums and percussions.
