Colin Pollock is in his late twenties. He grew up in Scotland and now lives in North London.
The Devil May Care is Colin's debut EP, but most people who have ventured criticism of his work say it sounds like he has been recording for years - afficionados of guitar music are sure to get kicks from this, particularly from some of the understated and intricately phrased blues chops on Back on my Case.
BJ Cole (who has played with the likes of Chet Atkins, Hank Marvin, Eddie Lang, Johnny Nash, the Walker Brothers, Deacon Blue, Andy Fairweather-Low, John Cale, Beautiful South, Sting) agreed to contribute his legendary pedal steel sound to two of the tracks on the EP and sets a standard which none of the other musicians fall short of. Paul Bonner of the Fallen Heroes also makes an appearance on trumpet.
David Knopfler, founder member of Dire Straits, has listened to this record and gave it the thumbs up.
A 30 second MP3 extract of the title track made it to No.2 in the Vitaminic.co.uk Americana chart and No.3 in the Vitaminic.com Alternative Country chart within days of posting.
