Academy of Chess and Checkers has drawn comparisons to Tom Waits, Neil Young, Grant Lee Phillips, Beck, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Pink Floyd, amongst others, in their L.A. appearances.
The marketplace has a need for good music. Academy of Chess and Checkers fills that need. It's basic economics. I don't understand it at all. But I like it.
