Born in Houston, Texas, Ava James moved with her family to East Tennessee. when she was three. As far back as she can remember the sound of singing, guitars, and piano filled their Tennessee home. Many Evenings were spent with the entire family practicing for one of their many local performances. Ava was the second to youngest child in the Fitzgerald Family Band.

Around the age of fourteen Ava's dad packed up the family and they moved to California. Coming from the mountains of Tennessee, Southern California proved to be bit of a culture shock to Ava. However in High School she became a member of the prestigious "Irvine Singers".

After a couple of years Ava's dad bought a bakery where on weekend mornings Ava's mom would entertain the morning crowds with her piano playing. It wasn't long before the entire family would be entertaining crowds once again.

Ava decided that it was time to start a band and perform live again. With the help of her brothers they formed the band "5 South". After a while the name of the band was changed to "Ava and Jonescove", Jonescove being the name of her hometown in Tennessee.

Having met Producer Barry Keenan through a mutual friend, Ava recorded a cd of contemporary country music using some of the top country players in Los Angeles.

With her just released DVD of the single "Hip Hunky Hick", it's only a matter of time before everybody knows the name - Ava James...
