Bob Connolly calls the little town of White Salmon, Washington his home. Set in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, in the middle of the Northwest Cascade Range, White Salmon lies about 60 miles east of Portland, OR. He resides on his 23-acre gentleman's ranch just outside of town. Bob has always been a fan and a bit of a historian of the turbulent times that were the American West. Sometimes in the still night air one can hear the sound of Bob's music drifting from the swinging doors of his authentic looking replica of the Wild West saloon he has constructed on his ranch. Not quite comfortable with these modern times, Bob feels he was probably born a good hundred or more years too late. Ask anyone who knows him and they will tell you that he is truly a cowboy in his heart.
This latest CD that Bob just completed is in the vein of Marty Robbins and his ballads of the Southwest. Texas tunesmiths Robert Earl Keen and Joe Ely wrote three of the songs on this latest release. Marty Robbins previously recorded "The Master's Call." The rest of the songs were penned by two local writers and friends, Ernie Birney of White Salmon, WA and Texas born but now living in Oregon write Rick Hulett, who also produced and did guitar work on the recording.
