Curtis Potter is one of the finest voices in Country Music. He has had that distinction ever since first appearing on "The Bill Fox Show" on local television in Abilene, Texas, in his early teens. In 1959, Curtis joined Country Music Hall of Famer Hank Thompson as a bass player and front man. The following thirteen years would provide a great training ground for Curtis. Curtis recorded a shuffle beat record titled "Walkin' Talkin' Breathin' Case of Sorrow" in 1973. The single gained enough attention to attract an offer from Hillside Records. Several great singles would follow including "Fraulein" "San Antonio Medley" "Texas Proud" and "You Comb Her Hair Every Morning." "Them Old Honkytonks" is the first release for Curtis on Heart of Texas Records. Justin Trevino did an outstanding job in selecting the material that would be released on this first album. You will hear a lot of variety, but most importantly you will still hear one of the finest voices in our Country Music Business.
