"The story of CXI is ancient, simple and repeated throughout the centuries. The Spirit of God touches the heart of a person to put down in a psalm, all that the Lord has done in their life.

Testimonies of His grace and mercy, revelations of our sinful state, and reflections of His supreme glory. The CXI story, however, is told with the sounds of this century. Synth's instead of resounding cymbals, linked effect units instead of lyres. It is with this understanding that we hope your mind and heart will be open to how we express our love for Father, Son, and Holy Spirit."

CXI was envisioned in 2001 by music composer Troy Goss, a Southern Californian since the age of three, and musically involved since the fouth grade. Years later, his mature taste for jazz and R&B composition would be dramatically and forever directed toward Christian music. But it would not be fully realized until influenced by his joining the church ensemble group where he learned true worship and better vocal harmony. Still later, being introduced to the fantastic complexities of modern electronic music such as intelligent techno, breakbeat, and trance music by a gifted rhythm composer, the idea of exploring and blending this music with a Christian message, set the rest in motion.

"The musical qualities applied in trance music is subtle. It can sound like a repetitive happy jackhammer by untrained hands and unwilling ears. The power placed in a breakbeat to get people to move, is much more like... a hip drummer in a GOOD marching band. Add an orchestra section of soaring strings and my heart lifts off, but the words must be The Word, to be a Christian song, even if its just in the chorus...", Troy says, "...these are the sounds of a new generation with the same purpose- to draw the listening to the message and to encourage those amongst who are believers. Let everything that has breath, Praise HIS Name."

The music that CXI explores, knows no bounds.

Not shy about wanting to communicate with those who are inspired by this type of music, his blogspot is available for comment at http://cxiofficial.blogspot.com. Drop a line, comment about a post, or just swap gear stories (Troy's a true gearhound on a shoestring budget.)

TRIVIA: The group's logo are the letters CXI, which are drawn to resemble the fish symbol. It was originally intended for a T-Shirt design Troy was developing. The inspiration came from class letters off the back of a car he was stuck in traffic behind (you know like KAR 2000 DX). Two years later searching for a name for his husband & wife group, God had already provided him with one. (It just took him a while to realize this.)

QUIZ: What do the letters CXI stand for?

"...the I for "Inside", because that's exactly where Christ is supposed to be exalted." - Troy Goss, from the Electrinity CD, IZRI_Media_Interviews - Feb 2005.
