All original music. And if that weren't bad enough, you can't even really pin it into a genre. Folk? No. Rock? No. Blues? No. Jazz? Definitely not! And yet it's all in there... somewhere. Buried deep underneathe the words and melodies, I suppose.

I started playing when I was 13. At first, it was all about wailing on blues songs. But then, a few years later (I guess it was around the time I started playing with other musicians), I started to appreciate importance of not just expressing, but also listening and really being there inside the song. Music can't be a one-sided thing, you have to yourself become the instrument, sensitive and responsive to not just the song, but the audience, the weather, the cappuccino maker whizzing in the back of the room ... everything.

For me, good music, whether it's bluegrass or rock or whatever, is always defined by its ability to take me to that point where I stop thinking and just feel... it's like a key that can unlock the closet where all the raw and pure emotions are kept. That's what I always aim for when I play, and occasionally I get close.. That's what I always aim for, and occasionally I feel like I get close.

Libra represents the spectrum of sounds that I love. An acoustic guitar with violin followed on the next track by a six piece electric rock band. It's that kind of album. You won't be able to put your finger on exactly why you like it, but you will. Hear it.
