BIOGRAPHY
Of
Akera Love Lee
Akera is a beautiful mixture of Creole, Jamaican, Indian, and Italian; born 1982 in Hampton Virginia representing an eager young woman, with a true passion for fashion, art and music. Her early influences in music were Prince, Sade, and Tina Turner; more recently Michelle Ndegeocello, Kelis, Ceelo, N.E.R.D., Limp Bizkit, Gwin Stephanie and Jill Scott. These various artists represent her versatility in her personality and her work. Her roots are not only anchored in R&B but also in rock, hip-hop, neo-soul and gospel. Early church solos and talent shows helped to establish her musical foundation. From there she went on to KMEA district II honor choir where she earned a position with the choir as well as first place runner up in Kansas State finals. Akera has also performed at key military and sorority functions which helped her in gaining the confidence she would need to continue her quest for her dream in entertainment at a young age.
Early fashion influences were Beverly Johnson, Tyra Banks, and Naomi Campbell. These models helped to change the fashion industry with their un-canning versatility to be able to adjust to any style of fashion, which is part of what Akera brings as well. She began modeling in fashion shows in junior high. Her next step was promotions and print-work followed. Akera has also appeared in commercials, music videos, as well as daytime television shows.
Akera has been drawing and painting since she has been able to hold a pencil and paint brush. She has completed several portraits and other paintings for herself and clients. With seven years of fashion sketching experience as a foundation, Akera maximizes her artistic capabilities by designing clothes. She is currently studying for a BA in fashion design and marketing at the American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, GA and will soon graduate with aspirations of starting her own clothing line.
Musically, her goal is to release her own successful album that consists of hip hop/rock 'n' roll/R&B/gospel/spoken word with the aid of her poetic background to lead the way. Her ultimate goal, however, is to become a successful entertainer in all aspects including acting, modeling, writing, movie production and designing. Akera has been writing poetry since her early years as a teen. She has developed into a fiery, captivating word connoisseur that can paint you a mental image with the same precision used by a canvas painter with her melodic flow. Her spoken word experience dates back to "Fuzzy Wednesdays" in Hampton VA, where she also performed as a feature in a regular spoken word segment with 103 jam's radio station. She uses her writing skills to their advantage and as a lyricist who can also sing, she is able to conquer all genres of music whether it be rapping or singing. With her versatility and creativity, her presence will be both felt and widely accepted and not culturally bound. She is a business oriented woman who is not scared to try something new. To vouch for that she is launching an entertainment company by the name of "Versataille", that will be the hosting company for her modeling agency "Beauty 101", and "Billionaires Club Magazine". Akera has also began her own record label "Dead Az Records" to bring herself out as well as other artists without waiting on any one.
