Bop's Biography
Michael Jackson was born on February11th 1977 in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY. As a youngster Bop has always been inspired to write poetry. Raised on Saratoga Avenue the early influence of Hip Hop began when his next door neighbor B-Original introduced records to him. Another neighbor Scoob Lover from upstairs who danced for Big Daddy Kane (Scoob & Scrap) finished influencing Bop into a Hip Hop writer along with the likes of Rakim, Kool G. Rap, Slick Rick and Public Enemy. In 1989 Bop won a 75$ bond and a 2nd place plaque for The Racial And Ethnic Harmony Poetry And Essay Contest sponsored by McDonalds and The Daily News. This would further push Bop to write in continuity all through junior and high school.
Bop attended Graph Arts High School in Manhattan. Attending this talent enriched environment he became popular amongst his peers.
B.O.P means Beyond Optical Perception in which symbolizes his mental wealth. Representing himself as the Wise Owl of the rap industry, Bop lends inspiration and visual creativity to consumers. He speaks from an inner city's slum stricken dwellers point of view with a slight dash of righteousness. He provides listeners with a variety of flows, concepts, styles, attitudes, and vibes. His versatility is guaranteed to please all types of audiences. As a master of his own style, he vividly describes issues he has experienced and witnessed in his journey throughout his life.
Bop met his partner Michael Anthony Cole a.k.a Katas from the Bronx NY and Alynce Spellman a.k.a Algebra, three soloist who became Raw Footage. Due to different situations trials and tribulations Bop spent most of his time creating material with the two separately. Katas and Bop began recording and performing in local talent shows, some which were televised. Video Music Box had a talent show one year where he and Katas performed. They did so well at the show and were viewed by the city and the entire school on television that the following day they were crowned the best 2 rappers in school. The duo received a lot of recognition in their separate neighborhoods, so much that they decided to take it further.
His partner Katas soon found hustling as a means of fast enterprise as Bop would continue his pursuit of a music career. During this hiatus Katas introduced Bop to a local studio called Mangla Production Studio. It was there where his partner would learn the art of producing music. Katas would later form a company called Epidemy Pro. his title C.E.O and Bop as his partner. A producer named Young Lord from the Bad Boy Hitmen Squad requested Katas do a song for him and a few years later he had the first single titled "Intrigued" off of The Red Book Masters for promotional use. The album wasn't a success, and the single LP sold 7500 units with no promotion. Even though the album flopped Katas single did not. His record received 5 magazine song reviews.
Through Katas, Bop also featured on Young Lord Presents The Red Book Masters compilation album, which was off of Honcho Mogul Industries owned by Steve Salem with a 1min.46sec. snippet entitled "Thoughts Illustrated" distributed through Road Runner Records/Sony. This outstanding verse landed him a write up in the XXL Magazine making him the first M.C. to get a Hip-Hop quotable in their Spit Fire Section. (Thanks to Datwon Thomas). The Blaze, Spin, XXL, The Source and Vibe magazines gave Katas single Intrigued and Bop excellent commendation.
Over the years Katas has managed to keep his name buzzing throughout the Hip Hop Music industry and representing his partner Bop to the fullest. Sadly to say Katas (Michael Anthony Cole) was killed in a hit and run in the Bronx NY. This untimely demise had hurt Bop to the point he gave up on music feeling that all he and his partner had worked towards failed. It wasn't long before the spirit of Katas ignited Bop to keep the dream alive and go and represent what his partner and he had built. So it is now that Bop has put together a book, which is a selected supply of his poetry titled "Read My Mind" and "Amazing Stories" soon to be released through Xlibris (on line) a picture book service for authors to publish their manuscripts. Meanwhile the mix-tape version is now circulating through out the United States.
As the world evolves into a new millennium, so will music and Bop is the artist who will revolutionize rap with his powerful lyrics and Epidemy Production left by his fallen partner.
