This album took 3 years to complete.
Song number 5 "What's Come Over Me" took seven months to re-construct and compose.
We orginally took a sample out of Christopher Cross's song, "Sailing" and built the song on that melody.
However, on the day of pressing his publist faxed us a nasty letter stating that Christopher Cross changed his mind and did not want to support the project.
It's funny how Puffy Daddy and N'Sync got approval to use the $ong $even months later.
Hum...Oh" well to make a long story short.
We called the pressing plant in L.A. and told them NOT to press the CD with a little less than 5 min to spare! I think I saw my first grey hair that day.
Needless to say we brought in live musicans led by the infamous Kenny P. and dropped jewels.
Places like Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany and countless radio stations world wide faxed us unbelievable reviews promoting our name.
Even our own local radio station in Phoenix.
Power 92.3 (Crazy Kid and the Wake up Show)interviewed us (2 HARD 2 LiFT) at the station.
Then gave us the stations first standing ovation after they played "What's Come Over Me and We Came 2 Party." Crazy Kid went on to say LIVE on air, "You know...it absolutely amazes me the amount of talent we have here in the valley." Moral of the story from that whole Christopher Cross experience is: We NEVER sampled again.
All songs are ORIGINAL.
Produced by some of the Valley's top-notch producers like: The Shadow, Chris Style and Victor "JC HARD" Ortega.
Engineered by Wayne Vulcan and Melvin Johnson.
Backed up with incredible singing performances from Karen Brooks, Kreshan Thorton, Stevie Thorton and the one and only D.
Gant.
The album is packed with versatility and diversity from 5 different rappers.
Ranging from a militant points of view or from a ghetto-gangbangin' point of view.
Nothing was held back.
Love songs were once againg being made on a hardcore rap.
Songs of freakiness and sex enuendo's come in right after a deep dark track.
That comes right before a pimped out track in "Watch My Shit." Somehow it was right.
The album clicked.
It made sense.
I fell right into the pocket.
So whatever your flavor chances are this albums got what your looking for.
A little bit of everything.
