atiquis represents five disaffected young men who each found themselves engaged in a switchblade confrontation on a cold brooklyn night. althought they won't talk openly of the events that transpired over a year ago on that evening, they have formed a jazz-punk musical unit to help cope with the memories. each song twists between manic rage and sentimental regret, carrying an improvisational bent as focused and dangerous as the very night they met.

atiquis has performed all over the new york area, turning out the whinos, hipsters, hippies, artsters, salesmen, and jazzers at venues like cb's, the knitting factory, kavehaz, stain, and more.

With comparisons to Dave Holland, Ben Allison, MMW, The Bad Plus, or Happy Apple, Atiquis insists, there's something different here.

keep your ears open for their 2 horned, guitar-bass-drum cacophony, and your eyes alert for glimmers of steel blades in your periphery
