Bud Shank has been an integral member of the jazz scene for more than fifty years. He has played with everyone from Stan Kenton to Miles Davis, co-founded the seminal jazz group LA4, ran his own jazz workshop and festival in Washington for 21 years, and is still touring at a torrid pace as well as releasine two CD's a year. This particular CD was made as a tongue in cheek recreation of the travels and travails of Lewis and Clark as they broke trail to the West Coast. It contains some dynamite songs, including a superb vocal on Laura by former Doobie Brother Danny Hull.
