Betsy Braud, The Jazz Nurse, was born and raised in Thibodaux, LA, on the banks of Bayou Lafourche. A registered nurse by day, she has been moonlighting on the Louisiana jazz scene for over two decades.
The Jazz Nurse Prescription brings together the talents of Betsy Braud, Michael Foster, Chris Lee and Gary Roberts to showcase Betsy's unique musical style, Latin-Flavored Bayou Jazz. Inspired by the sights, sounds, and smells of the Louisiana bayou landscape, the soundtrack includes titles from Brazil, jazz standards as well as original compositions from each of the band members. Guest musicians dropped by to share their musical talents: Patrice Fisher on harp; Michael Skinkus on percussion and making his recording debut, Josiah Foster on percussion. At once spicy, soulful, and sassy, this CD is sure to heal!
